Buds Ice Cream in Truckee

Good ice cream yet they fell far short in helping to determine if the ice cream they sell has ALLERGENS. The server was unwilling to check the labels and they had not been trained on how to handle.

The ice cream is delicious, which helps, as this is one of the only ice cream places around. There's a rush at times; the owners should consider paying their employees more or, hiring a 2nd employee PT to help during the rush.

The customer service wasn't great. The ice cream was reasonable. Bring your own spoon, their spoons are not strong enough to eat the ice cream.

Good ice cream, nice decor, old-school soda fountian feel to the place, but I think I came at a bad time. It was "Truckee Thursday" event thing and there were people everywhere. Inside was so hot that it was melting before I got it.

Agree the service wasn’t good. The ice cream was ok. They were out of the peanut butter and chocolate, So that was disappointing. We got a cookie that was down right awful. But the place is adorable.

I don't care where I just ate or drank - I have this addiction. No - not drugs or alcohol or smoke .. I like ice cream. I like it allot. And Buds is some good stuff. I would most likely mainline it, if I weren't deathly afraid of sharing needles - and I'm not sure what ice cream would do in an artery without first passing thru my stomach. Can't smoke it - it would make a mess of a pipe or papers. Besides - I can't smoke anything - fire burns me. I'll just have to eat it. On a cone, in a bowl (my favorite) or - just hand me the danged container - I'll eat what I want and .. buy the rest.Don't get between me and my Buds, man. It's mine all mine.

Very rude service, will not be back

The ice cream was ok. The staff was not friendly and even seemed annoyed that we were there. The place was not clean and there were at least 100 flies in the shop. The products are ridiculously overpriced!!

Milkshakes were not thick at all and one was so watery it looked like flavored milk. Definitely not worth the price

Unbelievable. What ice cream shop is out of chocolate, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream? Also, they were out of waffle cones and milk for milk shakes.

Wonderful old fashion ice cream parlor in old town Truckee. The ice cream is delicious plus they have peanut butter chocolate which is my favorite. The staff behind the counter was very nice and the service was great!

3 females working in shop...got our order wrong... stood around chatting while the place was a huge mess...terrible customer service... what a shame... someone is paying these girls !

These other people are on crack. They were closing up and let me slide in last minute to grab some ice cream. Didn’t regret getting Kona Coffee. Hit this place up, it opened in 1940something soooo yea.

Quaint little place with fantastic ice cream and service

I came here a couple times for the chocolate peanut butter ice cream. It's pretty good. This is a good place to stop if you want a quick ice cream. Nothing too special. I agree with most the reviewers that the service isn't super friendly, but they are by no means rude.
